Getting Started

So lots of people struggle with their health. I'm no exception. In University I was in the army reserves working physically most weekends and biked to school/work daily. Then I graduated and started working a desk job. Fast forward to a like 6 months ago and I not only jumped on the scale and saw a whopping 170 lbs but I was too big for my size 10 pants!!

I started yoga once a week at work and researched more into running and these new low profile shoes and started to desperately run. Nothing too serious, a couple kms here and there to get my feet wet. Then I got sent to Toronto for a week through work and looked up some fitness routines I'd seen on Pinterest and decided to give one a shot. For the life of me I have no idea which one it was but it was dubbed "crossfit" and that second night in my hotel room I pushuped and squated and burpeed until I feel the floor magnetically pulling me towards it. I felt great! The next day I hopped on the treadmill and gave 'er! The rest of the week went like that but when I got home my foot was a little sore so I eased up. About a week later I decided to go for another run but my foot hurt instantly and it got to the point where I thought I may not make it home. I dragged my butt to the doc and it was a stress fracture :( And I my weight was up 5 lbs.

In my excitement though I started researching crossfit and showing my mom this video I'd seen of a sexy, thin model that did crossfit and she mentioned doing mostly paleo. My mom and I looked at eachother and said "wtf is paleo?" So we both did a shit tonne of research and I found the website nerdfitness.com. It was here I read The Beginners Guide To The Paleo Diet. I was intrigued but then I found myself in the before pictures of Staci and wanted myself to look like the after pictures!

I also found the Nerd Fitness 6-week challenge and the next challenge was starting in just a couple weeks! My luck :) I joined up and found a group of like minded people around the globe and we created an accountabilibuddies group where we can cheer eachother on :) We're the Dr. Who's Sidekicks!

I set my goals and get a move on! We're a few weeks into the challenge now and tonight is measurement night. My starting measurements were:
